Prayer Requests from Papua New Guinea
Translator Training Course 1
Next week is the second round of Translators’ Training Course 1 (TTC1) for the new translators in the Solos Language Program. In the last round we had 13 new Solos translators attend. Unfortunately, the Petats language team was not able to come, and a number of candidates from Inland Solos also did not attend. There were also some logistics and community difficulties, so we had to limit our planned two weeks of training to just one week.
There are many obstacles to successfully doing what we are trying to do, so we are asking for special prayer for this next two and a half weeks of TTC1. We are very thankful for the local churches on the west coast of Buka Island who have agreed to sponsor this next session, but still, we need divine assistance.
Foot Surgery for Christy
Christy continues to have issues with her left foot. She will need a CT scan with a surgery after that. This will involve some time in the USA, so Christy is planning to take Jacob along. Larry and the older boys will stay in PNG. Please pray that the right medical steps will be taken, and that all the decisions and logistics around this will go well.
Prayer Corner Praises:
• Translators’ Training Course starting again next week!
• Relatively good communication with three different villages in Buka
• The first batch of literacy books are shipped!
Requests:
• For Christy’s medical procedures and surgery
• That Christy and Jacob will have good travels
• Translators’ Training Course resuming next week in Tung village
• Pray for the new translators—they are facing big challenges
• That our literacy books would safely and quickly arrive in Buka
• That the details and permissions for a major literacy course for elementary teachers in February would come together well
