A New Teacher!
Remember recently when we talked about the need for teachers here? Unexpectedly, God has opened the door for Christy to fill part of that need.
Christy has taught before, but not at Ukarumpa. Starting July 19, she will be the new Preschool teacher at Ukarumpa International School. Preschool runs Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings each week, and she will have 15 students to start with. There will be two national ladies helping. On those same afternoons she will be the Librarian for the Primary Campus as well.
Pray for her in the coming weeks as she prepares for this big job which she will be doing in addition to homeschooling our two oldest boys. This will be a big adjustment for our family, and obviously will be a lot of added responsibility and workload for Christy.
It is a blessing to be able to serve our fellow-workers in this way. Christy is anticipating forming great relationships with this group of four-year-olds as they begin learning the basics in preparation for ‘real school’ next year, as well as forming closer connections with their parents, many of whom are already our friends.
We were blessed to have Christy's parents, Leon and Jamee Page, pay us an extended visit (5 1/2 weeks).
