Reaching Out to Buddhists

About nine out of ten people on the street in Myanmar are Buddhists. This provides a big challenge for Director Andrew Bawi Ceu and the students at Shiloh Bible College.

But, then, Andrew has taken on challenges before. For example, following his vision to see all of Myanmar reached with the gospel, he moved to the central city of Mandalay in 1999 and the following year began the Bible college to train church planters.
Andrew’s concern, however, is not just that his students learn about evangelism and theology in the classroom. He asks them to put their faith into practice, as well.
The first Saturday every month is set aside for prayer and fasting, and the following three Saturdays are set aside for evangelism. During their first semester, which ended last month, the 29 student s distributed about 1,000 gospel tracts and presented the gospel to some 455 Buddhists.
Andrew is also excited that the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association is planning crusades in October and November in Mandalay specifically for Buddhists. He is looking forward to inviting friends and seeing the church in Mandalay grow.
Please continue praying for our brothers and sisters in Myanmar as they seek to share Christ’s love with others.
