A Street Meeting in Haiti

Download the October issue of The Harvest Times.

When Pastor Samson felt led to plan a special summer evangelistic campaign in the streets of Port-au-Prince, he didn't know from where the extra funds would come. However, he knew that the special services would help the unsaved hear and respond to the gospel. And, as he wrote in June, "We need to have many people accept Jesus Christ in this event."

They began spreading the word among the Haitian Christians, and offerings came in. In fact the people gave generously and raised over $1000, but that was still only half the amount needed.

So it could not have been coincidence that a U.S. pastor—Rod Davis in Columbia, Missouri—wrote to Pastor Samson just at the right time, asking if he had a special offering project for the Columbia church.

The Christians at the Rockbridge church in Columbia partnered with their brothers and sisters in Haiti by raising over $1200, fully funding this special event.

As for the outdoor crusade, over the course of several days 65 people accepted Christ. These new Christians are receiving training now with the goal of seeing them baptized at the convention next January.

God took note of Pastor Samson’s step of faith and supplied the needed funds. And the rewards were great! Souls will enjoy heaven for all of eternity as a result.

Your ongoing prayers and support are essential to fulfilling the Great Commission. Thank you for your part in the ministry in Haiti.
