Papua New Guinea

Larry Doyle served a two-year internship with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Papua New Guinea from 2005-2007.

In 2008, Larry and his wife, Christy, traveled to Summer Institute of Linguistics (SIL) in North Dakota for about two months of linguistics training.

During their last term, the Doyle family, including Lawrance and Amaziah, lived primarily on the Island of Buka where they worked with the Solos people who do not have the Scriptures in their own language.

After a year of home assignment in the States and the birth of Jacob, the Doyles returned to Papua New Guinea in 2015. They are now based in Ukarumpa, where Larry serves as Senior Manager of Language Programs and continues to oversee the Solos translation project.
